When Santa offers efficiency expert Holly Jamison a job at the North Pole, she’s delighted to accept. It’s not that she loves the Christmas holidays. Far from it. Everywhere she looks, from the piles of presents to the thousands of cheery elves hard at work, Holly sees ways to improve the whole operation.
Even Nick Claus, Santa’s charming son, fails to draw Holly into the holiday spirit. Holly has to admit that Nick’s charismatic and handsome, but his fun-loving side doesn’t mask his lack of a work ethic.
It’s only when Holly cancels Nick’s pet project, and jeopardizes Christmas for thousands of children, that she realizes that the man she discounts as a total slacker might be the only one who can teach her about the joy of Christmas.

Saint Nick, Santa’s son, might seem a happy go lucky, not focused on one thing kind of guy – but he is and so much more. He’s focused on what’s important… the children. When Holly come along as his new assistant she sees nothing but cuts and waste. The Christmas spirit just doesn’t compute into her decisions. Yes, she’s attracted to Nick, but he’s such a playboy and a slacker, according to her, that she just can’t see him in a different light no matter how much others tell her that she’s wrong about him.
Nick is looking for a woman who completes him, kind of like his mom and dad compliment each other. Holly obviously isn’t that woman, even if he does find her attractive and would love to pursue more with her. That is until Holly gets tired of getting no straight answers from Saint Nick, and after consulting with Santa cancels a project of Nick’s. Nick will have to focus his anger and frustration into a life lesson for Holly on what the Christmas spirit is all about – and it’s definitely not numbers in a column or everything balancing out evenly.
Mrs. Saint Nick is such a fun, charming story. I love visiting the North Pole that Ms Mickelson has created.
If you love Christmas stories, then you are certain to enjoy this one. A fast paced story and a delightful romance… enjoy some Christmas spirit. 🙂
