Olivia Mackey spent her whole life hearing how she was destined for bigger and better places than Christmas Falls, Tennessee. A regular on the beauty queen scene from a very young age, she learned from her stage mom, that appearances mean everything. Nothing is where she left it. Friends have scattered, her mentor is ill, and Olivia is fumbling her way through a big life in a small town.
Tim Avondale and his young daughter showed up in Christmas Falls one evening looking for a fresh start. Buying the Sleepy Hound Bookstore seemed the perfect opportunity. Life had gone so wrong and now here in this quiet town he could keep anything bad from happening to his daughter again.
When the two cross paths Olivia and Tim find an instant connection. A tug toward each other they don’t want to ignore. The problem is, in the process they are being tugged away from all the things they thought were important in their lives. He can’t hide out from real life forever. She is more than just what people see on the surface. But when they’re forced to decide will they choose to be better together or safer apart?

Title: Finding The Truth in Christmas Falls
Series: Return to Christmas Falls #7

My Rating: 4.5 stars
Olivia’s return to Christmas Falls was certainly low key, in fact, she’d love it if no one noticed that she was back at all. But that was kind of unreasonable. At one time Olivia had been at the top of the modeling profession, always a beauty contestant, she took to the big time modeling world with ease for a few years. Then slowly the reality crept in. The constant traveling, the jerks who thought she was brainless and easy sexual pickings. The men who tried to use her like meat and should she gain a few pounds after breaking a bone and recuperating.. well, heaven forbid. The reality of the profession was far different than what most young women thought of when the dream of being a famous fashion model was waved in front of their eager faces…. or their grabby, bossy, insensitive mother’s face we should say. Olivia had enough. Fired her agent. Walked away from it all. And now when her savings were almost gone, she’s come home to Christmas Falls still avoiding reality as she hasn’t visited Miss Anna Cate yet. It took all her energy to simply leave the barn where she was staying and pretend to look for work each day – how could she face her mentor who was probably dying. No,she’d remain hidden as long as she could.
But Miss Anna Cate was made of far stronger things than Olivia’s deflective moves. Soon she was seated in her mentor’s home, getting some sound advice and heading off for a job interview… one that she was bound to get if Miss Anna Cate had anything to say about it. The Sleepy Hound remained the same even when it obviously wasn’t since there was a new owner. Tim and his young daughter were recent new citizens of Christmas Falls. The bookstore was the perfect place for Tim to rebuild their lives after his wife’s death in a car accident. It was also the perfect place to keep his precious daughter safe, although that was getting more difficult as Cora grew up. As Olivia walks into the bookstore for the interview not one of them realize just how much life is about to change for them… or how much they themselves will need to change in order to find the happiness they all deserve.
Finding The Truth in Christmas Falls was a perfect story to finish up this holiday series. Olivia and Tim each need a bit of a miracle themselves, even if they don’t know it. Tim is held in the past through fear. Olivia is held there as well through lies and deceptions. It’s time for them both to trust again and put the past firmly where it belongs. I enjoyed this couple as they worked through a lot of emotional baggage and found their own truth.
Finally the Christmas event that brought these seven best friends back to Christmas Falls is upon us. A quick visit with all the characters we’ve come to enjoy and a resolution for Miss Anna Cate. Perfect ending… with wishes for more. Maybe next year we can come back.
I enjoyed this story and the entire series. I’d highly recommend it for any Romance reader who loves small towns, close knit community. best-est friends ever and a chance at a happy ever after for everyone.
