Christmas On Thin Ice by Holly Blair

Lily Jordan doesn’t need help from anyone. Sure, she’s pregnant and her golf pro ex just ran off with someone else. To make matters worse, her family’s Christmas tree farm is about to go under. But she doesn’t need to be rescued by another man, especially an athlete.

Newly retired hockey player Noah Wright hopes to find peace for himself and his young daughter out of the limelight and back in his old hometown of Juniper Falls. But he runs into Lily and wants nothing more than to fix her problems.

Lily’s bound and determined to take care of herself, no matter what. But Noah knows they belong together, and this time, he’s playing for keeps.

Christmas On Thin Ice is the second story in the Juniper Falls holiday series.  And, again, although it is novella length I really don’t want to say too much for the cover description already had given you a good idea of what to expect with this story.

Lily and Noah have a past that neither really has forgotten.  Sure, it was brief and over before it began – but if that were really true why couldn’t either of them forget that kiss all these years later?  This is a story that is so easy to understand the reasoning of both sides, and see the problems coming a mile away.  I liked both Lily and Noah – I really wish for a story with Lily’s brother Alex as lead just so someone could mess with his romance the way he did with Lily’s.  Big brothers (insert eye roll)

I had fun with this story, and if you love short Christmas stories I believe you would as well.  Short, sweet and fun exactly what works in this hectic holiday season.
